Alex Rodriguez is a businessman and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of A-Rod Corp, a broad-based investment firm that bets on world-class startups and partners with leading global companies across the real estate, health and wellness, technology, and sports & entertainment industries. While best known as one of the world’s greatest athletes (a 14x MLB All-Star and a 2009 World Series Champion with the New York Yankees), for more than 25 years, Alex leads a team of experts building high-growth businesses and enhancing the value of more than 30 companies in the A-Rod Corp portfolio.

Alex founded A-Rod Corp in 1995, purchasing a duplex apartment on the theory that investing his MLB earnings wisely would protect him from the kinds of financial struggles that afflict too many professional athletes. While he racked up extraordinary stats on the field (696 home runs and more grand slams than any other MLB player in history), Alex simultaneously assembled an impressive team at A-Rod Corp, bought apartment units across the southeastern U.S., and built a fully integrated real estate and development company. In 2020, Alex joined CGI Merchant Group's hotel investment fund to acquire and develop properties across North America and the Caribbean.

Following his success in real estate, Alex has invested in a variety of sectors where he has expertise. He looks for long-term opportunities to provide financial capital, work alongside founders and leadership, and amplify the growth of each company.

In addition to leading A-Rod Corp, Alex is CEO of Slam Corp, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) with Antara Capital Chairman Himanshu Gulati as equal partner. Slam Corp is seeking to acquire a leader in the consumer tech, media, entertainment, and health and wellness sectors.  

In 2021, Alex joined the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx ownership group. In addition to his ownership role, Rodriguez serves as a strategic advisor to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and is an investor in Blue Crow Sports. In the same year, Alex formed A-Rod Media, a strategic pillar within the organization to house all media activity. A-Rod Media offers scalable, multimedia capabilities, including original content creation, compelling narrative storytelling, and audience engagement across all marketing platforms.  

Alex is an Emmy Award-winning MLB analyst for Fox Sports and ESPN. He has been a judge and investor on ABC’s Shark Tank, mentored financially distressed ex-athletes on CNBC’s Back in the Game, and co-hosted the podcast The Corp with Barstool Sports’ Dan Katz, interviewing CEOs, entrepreneurs, and sports legends. Committed to creating opportunities for young people to succeed, Alex serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of America and is in the National Alumni Hall of Fame, and the Boards of Trustees of the University of Miami. His gifts to the University of Miami and Florida International University have provided scholarships to dozens of students.

Alex resides in Miami with his daughters, Natasha and Ella.

In his role as Chief Financial Officer of A-Rod Corp, David Becker manages financial budgeting, internal reporting, accounting, tax, interfacing with financing partners, and other day-to-day financial operations. Before he joined A-Rod Corp in 2021, he worked at Inner Circle Sports for over 10 years. Prior to Inner Circle, he spent four years in investment banking coverage at J.P. Morgan as an Analyst and an Associate, covering companies in the financial institutions and real estate sectors. Outside of work, Dave currently sits on the Board of Trustees and the Finance/Audit Committee for the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone and on the Industry Advisory Board for the Business of Sports School. He studied business administration at Emory University, where he received his BBA with a concentration in finance.  

Jose Gomez is a founding Partner at A-Rod Corp and Newport Property Construction. As COO of Newport, he oversees the firm’s financial and business operations. He has supervised and managed the repositioning of more than 16,000 multifamily housing units throughout the Southeast U.S. With deep expertise in construction management, Jose forges Newport’s strategic relationships with private equity funds, REITs, and corporate clients.

As VP, Legal Operations, Javier manages investment, legal, and operational strategies across A-Rod Corp’s vast portfolio.

Javier attended Stetson University where he played baseball and obtained his B.S. in Business Administration. He finished his baseball career playing in the minor leagues, which included a season within the Arizona Diamondbacks organization Javier obtained his law degree from St. Thomas University and has been a real estate attorney since 2003.

In her role as Senior Vice President, Finance of A-Rod Corp, Malvina Kazanian manages financial controls, accounting, business operations, human resources, and IT. Before she joined A-Rod Corp in 2010, she worked for 12 years as a Business Manager at Boulevard Management, serving high net worth clients in the sports and entertainment industries. Before that, she was an Account Manager at David Weise & Associates. Malvina has a B.S. in Business Administration from Cal State University, Northridge.

As President of Monument Capital Management (MCM), Erin Knight oversees a fully integrated real estate investment company that has acquired more than $800 million in assets across more than a dozen states. Acquired via opportunity funds and strategic joint ventures, these investments target markets with strong demand for workforce housing. Erin joined A-Rod Corp in 2018 following two decades in banking and finance. She held executive positions at regional banks in South Florida, overseeing more than $1 billion in commercial real estate loan portfolios. Erin is on the board of the Baptist Health Foundation, the Miami Foundation, and the Junior League of Miami Foundation. She is the founder of LeanIn Miami. She is a Certified Financial Planner and holds Health, Life, Variable Annuity, and Series 7 licenses. She graduated from Florida State University.

As Chief Business Officer at A-Rod Corp, Kelly Laferriere focuses on strategic operations, investments, media and entertainment, and marketing. Additionally, Kelly serves as an Advisor to Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore, the co-owners NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx.

Ms. Laferriere has worked in sports, media, and entertainment for more than two decades, most notably at ESPN, overseeing programming and acquisitions (for some of the world's leading sports properties such as NBA, NFL, NHL), and then at Six Flags, where she led the business and operations of east coast parks.

Kelly also serves as President of Slam Corp, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) that is an equal partnership of Alex Rodriguez and Himanshu Gulati, the founder of Antara Capital. ‍

As President and CEO of Newport, Jose oversees planning and development across multifamily, high-end residential, mixed-use, and other real estate assets. He has supervised and managed the development of more than 15 million square feet of real estate assets for A-Rod Corp. Jose earned his B.S. degree in Construction Management from Florida International University.

In his role as Vice President, Investments and Corporate Development of A-Rod Corp, Mitchell Revich manages all financial analysis related to new investments and existing portfolio companies, and partners with portfolio companies to help deliver the best business results. Before he joined A-Rod Corp in 2024, he was an Investor at Prelude Growth Partners, where he invested in, and supported, brands made for the new modern consumer. Prior to Prelude Growth Partners, he worked on the Consumer, Food & Retail team at Lazard, where he advised on various buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions. Mitchell has a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the men’s varsity fencing team.

Rachael oversees the day-to-day operational activity at A-Rod Corp, working closely with the CEO on calendar management, appearances, and correspondence. Rachael also plays a role in sourcing and executing new partnership and speaking engagement opportunities, as well as supporting A-Rod Corp’s sports investments.

Ashleigh Honig manages the A-Rod Media portfolio, which includes speaking engagements, social media content, PR, and brand partnerships. Additionally, Ashleigh is an Executive Producer for The Deal podcast in collaboration with Bloomberg. Ashleigh previously worked in marketing for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund. She earned a B.A. in Advertising Management, Marketing and Sports Administration from the University of Miami.

As Sports & Media Associate, Nick Silva is responsible for Alex’s MLB broadcast preparation, sourcing and executing new partnership and speaking engagement opportunities, and supporting sports related investments. Before joining A-Rod Corp in 2020, Nick spent two seasons with the Chicago White Sox. He has his B.S in business management from the University of Maine.
